Synopsis: Neelakanta, the National award winning director with films like SHOW, MISSAMMA to his credit, is at it again. This time with a thriller, like never before on the Telugu Screen.

The film is a psychological thriller based on kleptomania. Nandanavanam 120km completely drives on twists and turns with engrossing screenplay. Hence revealing its story is doing injustice to the film. The story in brief goes thus.

Amar (Ajay Varma) is a petty thief. One day, he gets to meet an auditor named Benarjee (Kota Srinivas Rao) who comes with a proposal. Benarjee asks Amar to pretend like Sandeep, a rich businessman, who also looks like him and if he does Amar would get Rs One Crore. Amar readily agrees and goes to the Nandanavanam estate, off 120 Kms from the city. Little does he realize that he is a victim of a larger conspiracy that will leave his world changed forever. As they reach the estates, Amar learns that Sandeep has a mother, (Talluri Rameswari) sister (Surekah Vani) and uncle (Naresh) while Divya (Manasa) is his lover.

Even as Amar tries to accomplish his simple looking mission and enjoy the rewards, he is shocked to know that his look alike was actually killed by Benarjee. The mystery deepens when Divya and Benarjee start alleging that Amar is the murderer. Amar has only one way to prove his innocence. His friend Vasu who knows everything from the time Benarjee makes the offer to Amar. However Vasu contends that Amar is the one who killed Sandeep. Amar is devastated. He realizes that nothing is what it appears to be and his troubles had just begun before he unmasks the absolute truth. Neelakanta spins a gripping tale while Kota Srinivasa Rao steals the show.

Nandanavanam 120 Km works largely in the second half of the film. The real drama starts off just before the interval and then the film proceeds interestingly with twists and turns till the climax. Taking kleptomania as the basis for the film, director Neelakantha weaves a riveting screenplay.

He makes us glued to the seats post the interval scenes. And the striking feature in the film is outstanding re-recording work done by Vijay Kurakula. His music has really lifted the film even in the dull scenes. Technically it is very brilliant film. But it is a slow paced film.

Whats hot!

Post interval scenes have really worked well with edge of the seat suspense. The screenplay by Neelakantha, Vijay Kurakulas music and good cinematography by P G Vinda are the main pillars to the film. Editing by V Nagireddy is another major asse
