Nee Kosam is Ravi Teja's debut film as a solo hero. The low-budget film producers' hot property Maheswari plays his ladylove in this sentimental love story with twists and turns.

Sasirekha (Maheswari) is the daughter of a rich father (Jayaprakash Reddy), who is a strict disciplinarian. Her marriage is fixed with a medico, Sudhir (Brahmaji). Sasirekha has an uncle (Benerjee), whose daughter elopes with a boy and marries him in a temple. And Sasi's father, angry with the boy, kills him on the spot. A point, the director would like to drive into the audience's mind, as to how the heroine's dad's mental makeup is when it comes to family prestige. He couldn't tolerate his brother's daughter marrying someone the family didn't approve of. In that case what would happen if his own daughter goes against his wish?

After all, the heroine has to fall in love with the hero. Here, Sasi falls in love with Ravi (Ravitheja). Now the entire story revolves around three characters - Sasi, her and dad and Ravi. Ravi happens to see her at the college hostel where Sasi stays. Ravi's friend (Utej) is already in love with Sasi's friend Nimmi (Hiranmayi), her hostel mate. The director now takes us back to the past through flashbacks. Ravi is an orphan. From a hoarding artiste he rises to become an illustrator. Sasi develops a liking towards his drawings, which draws them near. Sasi is initially in love with Ravi's drawings, and not with him. But Ravi's entire life revolves around her. When he says this to Sasi, she warns him that her marriage is already fixed and tells him about her father as well.

Ravi has other plans to achieve his love. He meets Sudhir and tells him that he is in love with Sasi. Not content with that, he goes one step further, meets Sasi's father in the outskirts of the city and tells him all about his love. The angry dad takes his gun, but in the ensuing duel, the gun comes to Ravi's hands who accidentally kills Sasi's dad. The entire town thinks that it is the work of Naxalites.

Sasi soon finds out that the real culprit is none but Ravi. She flares up. Ravi, unable to bear the rejection of his love, jumps from a hill to commit suicide. But he escapes death, only to be told by the doctors that he is not fit for a married life.

And now the heroine is in a fix. Whether she has to marry Sudhir or to live with Ravi who tried to sacrifice his life for her love. Like a traditional 'Bharatheeya naari', she decides to serve Ravi for the rest of her life!

A tiring film, with nothing new to boast of. Ravitheja must improve his diction if he wishes to remain in the race for the hero's slot. Maheswari fits the bill. The music and cinematography are the only saving grace. If you've nothing much to do and would like to watch a re-run of old movies in one film, then go and watch this one!
