Story: A talented classical dancer (Kamal Hasan) has an avid admirer (Jayapradha). Her efforts to introduce him to the world bear fruit, he becomes a celebrity. Friendship turns to love for the dancer but not for his admirer. Though estranged from her husband, her admiration is only for his talent. As a token of his gratitude, the dancer unites her with her husband. Years roll by and the aged dancer becomes an alcoholic, his health failing him. He meets his widowed admirer again, and she requests him to teach her daughter (S P Shailaja) the subtle nuances of danc
